Rangers striker Kris Boyd to meet with Turkish club Kayserispor over possible move
Scottish star set for Ibrox exit...

By Niall McGlone
27 Jun 2010 23:41:00

Turkish side Kayserispor are hoping to meet with Kris Boyd this week as they try to persuade the out of contract Rangers striker to join them this summer.

Boyd is not said to be too keen on a move to Turkey but former Rangers man Shota Arveladze, who is now the boss of Kayserispor, is still hopeful of landing the 26-year-old.

"They have promised to come out to our place and are trying to find the best way to come," Arveladze told The Scottish Mail on Sunday. "I just want to let Kris feel that he is important to us and that he will feel happy living here and scoring goals for our team.

"I have to get a striker as soon as I can. I hope this can work out."

Arveladze has told Boyd and his representatives that if they talk to any other clubs in Turkey that the deal will be off with both Bursaspor and Ankaragucu also said to be interested.

"I said that if he comes to speak to other teams then my offer is out," Arveladze added. "If he comes to see other teams then all the media will be watching, taking photos of him everywhere.

"It is like a gamble and if he chooses another team then I look silly. I said if you come, then just visit me and make your mind up after that.

"So I hope he comes this week to see the place and finally agrees that he will come and play for us."

Boyd is available on a free transfer after failing to agree on a new deal to keep him at Ibrox.

The Scotland international, who hit 26 goals for the Scottish giants last season, had attracted the attention of Birmingham City, but Blues boss McLeish has since ruled out a move.

Newcastle United are also said to be interested, although they are yet to make a contract offer to Boyd or his representatives.

Kris Boyd To Reject Huge Wage Offer To Come To Newcastle?
June 28th, 2010 by Ed Harrison · 4 Comments

News today that Turkish club Kayserispor have made a firm bit to Scottish free agent Kris Boyd, and the offer is said to be a two year deal for £50K/week.

Kris Boyd - auction about to start?

Shota Arveladze, the Kayserispor coach, is expecting a visit from the potential Newcastle target Kris Boyd this week, but the Kayserispor manager is adamant he will not get involved in any auction for the player.

The Turkish club has been after the Scotland striker for at least 8 weeks, and they have made their offer, and to be fair to them, they are due a response from Kris, either to accept or reject the offer.

But we would suspect that Kris would love to play in the English Premier League, and is awaiting some offer from Newcastle United, but he’ll hardly get the offer that’s on the table from the Turkish side.

Other Turkish clubs, Bursaspor and Ankaragücü are also interested in Boyd, but coach Shota Arveladze made it clear earlier this month, that he wants Boyd in Turkey:

“I want to bring Boyd to my team,” “But it depends what he wants to do himself and I don`t know the answer to that.”

“I know that we can offer him good money. We don`t have a deadline but it would be good to know that it would be something Kris would at least consider.”

“I hope he will be open to talks. I would like to speak to him at some stage personally. I can tell him that I am the coach and I want him to come, tell him the way I`m thinking about the team playing and that type of thing.”

Arveladze will meet with Boyd and his representative, Mark Donaghy later this week, for talks out in Turkey, but Shota Arveladze is adamant he will not enter into any auction for the player:

“I said that if he comes to speak to other teams then my offer is out,”

With news that Newcastle may be interested – it could be a good deal if Kris Boyd comes to Newcastle and accepts a lower wage deal than is currently on the table for him – that’s what we want to see – players coming to Newcastle because they want to play here, and not just for the big bucks.

Since Kris’ contract runs out on Wednesday at Glasgow Rangers, it could be that he makes a decision before the end of this week – and we’ll just have to wait and see and follow developments.

If he does sign this week for Newcastle, and we think that would be a good signing, he will be able to attend the first pre-season training session a week on Thursday, at the Benton training headquarters.

Serie A duo join chase for Kris Boyd

Brescia and Torino are the latest two clubs to express an interest in Rangers striker Kris Boyd.

Brescia and Torino are the latest clubs to show an interest in Rangers striker Kris Boyd but admit they may be priced out of the market for the prolific forward.
STV Sport understands the Serie A pair are both weighing up offers for the Rangers striker, who will become a free agent this month.
Italian agent Roberto De Fanti has confirmed that both clubs are keen on speaking to the Scotland striker but acknowledge that there are other clubs in competition for Boyd's signature.
Interest from English clubs has cooled on the striker and Turkish outfit Kayserispor, managed by former Rangers star Shota Arveladze have been the most active in trying to persuade the prolific scorer to sign for them with a bumper £50,000 a week pay deal on the table.
CHASE FOR BOYD

Rival Turkish league sides Ankaragucu and Bursaspor have been linked with an offer to the striker, but news of interest from the Serie A duo is sure to catch the striker’s eye.
Brescia, newly promoted to the Italian top flight, are in the hunt for at least one forward to boost their squad and have also been linked with Japan's World Cup star Daisuke Matsui.
Seven times Italian champions Torino are no strangers to signing Scottish strikers having once had Scotland and Manchester United legend Denis Law on their books.
It is thought that both clubs accept that they would be unable to match the financial rewards on offer at any of the three Turkish clubs who are tracking Boyd.
Nonetheless, the pair hope that if the striker makes his choice based purely on sporting terms, they could land him under freedom of contract.
Boyd, the SPL’s all time record goal scorer had been expected to move south.
A bid from former Gers boss Alex McLeish, now at Birmingham City, was thought to be imminent but Birmingham have since signed Serbian striker Nikola Zigic.
Newcastle United another rumoured suitor for the 26 year -old striker have also distanced themselves from a move, leaving Blackburn Rovers and Gordon Strachan’s Middlesbrough as Boyd’s likeliest chances to secure a move to England.
The out of contract striker is expected to undertake a fact finding visit Turkey this week but has been warned by Kayserispor manager Arveladze that he will withdraw his offer if he talks to the club's Turkish rivals while he's there.

Shota Arveladze plan to send a private jet for Kris Boyd

Shota Arveladze has offered to send a private jet to fly Kris Boyd to Turkey in a bid to win the race for his signature.
The Kayserispor manager is desperate to land the Scotland internationalist this summer ahead of fierce competition from Turkish rivals Buraspor and Ankaraguca and English clubs Birmingham City, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers.
Boyd has been weighing up his options since deciding against re-signing for the Ibrox club, but it’s understood he plans to make a final decision on where he will be playing next season within the coming week.
Former Rangers striker Arveladze is so keen to secure the services of the SPL’s record goalscorer that he even offered to send a private jet to fly him to Turkey if he was willing to guarantee that he would sign for his club.
He explained: “We offered him a private jet to travel here – but only if he signs. If he is just travelling for talks, it’s too expensive.
“The last I heard from his agent was it was difficult to travel. It was all a little bit complicated. The plan he had involved flying from Glasgow to Amsterdam, then getting here around 3:30am.
“We said that was a little bit late, a little too difficult, but now we are waiting for them to come back with another time to travel.”
Arveladze has been working on this particular deal throughout the summer and has already insisted he will pull out of the race if Boyd is travelling to Turkey to open discussions with rival clubs.
He said: “They know my position. If he wants to come, we start training tomorrow and I’m going to be busy for the next five or six weeks doing business and making plans.
“I’m going to be busy but, hopefully, Kris will come out and sign for us.”

'Fitness and recovery coach' Laszlo Jambor to leave Ajax after 14 seasons

28 May: Season's end is traditionally a moment of goodbyes. After the game against SC Heerenveen the ArenA crowd will get to say goodbye to players such as Richard Witschge and Aron Winter, as well as chairman Michael van Praag, but also to a man who served as Ajax's 'fitness, rehabilitation and stamina coach' for no less than fourteen seasons: Laszlo Jambor, who will join his former Ajax colleague Gerard van der Lem in Saudi-Arabia, to become the finess coach of the Saudi-Arabian national team on 01 July.
Laszlo Jambor started his sports career as a professional basketball player in his native country of Hungary. Injuries forced him to quit his player career, after which he coached several basketball teams on the highest level in Hungary. He also worked as a gymnastics teacher at a Budapest highschool and at the Physical Education & Sport Science Institute of Budapest's Szemmelweiss University, before he moved to Holland as a basketball coach of Dutch side BV Hoofddorp.
The man to surprisingly add Jambor to the Ajax coaching staff as a fitness coach was Leo Beenhakker, Ajax's head-coach at the time, in 1989. For fourteen years Laszlo Jambor designed training schedules for all Ajax teams, from the F-youth to the first team, to improve the fitness, stamina, pace, co-ordination and physical power of the players. He also designed training schedules for players recovering from injuries.
As a member of the Ajax technical staff Laszlo Jambor witnessed the winning of six Dutch championships, four Dutch cups, four Dutch Super Cups, the UEFA Cup, the Champions League, the European Super Cup as well as the World Cup for club teams. He served under head-coaches Leo Beenhakker, Louis van Gaal, Morten Olsen, Hans Westerhof, Co Adriaanse and Ronald Koeman.
In a special farewell letter Jambor wrote to all of his Ajax colleagues and the supporters: "I can say with great satisfaction that few coaches have had such a fantastic time in football as me (...) It find it very hard to say goodbye and Ajax will always have a very special place in my heart."
Immediately after the 29 May home game against SC Heerenveen in the Amsterdam ArenA Ajax will officially say goodbye to Laszlo Jambor, as well as to departing players Richard Witschge, Aron Winter, Joey Didulica, Davide Mendes da Silva and Henk Timmer and chairman Michael van Praag, who will step back officially on 01 July, making way for his successor John Jaakke. Kris will be Turkish delight

KRIS BOYD has been promised a hero's welcome if he arrives in Turkey this week.
The former Rangers striker is expected to fly out to discuss a £50,000-a-week offer from Kayserispor boss Shota Arveladze.
Club spokesman Oguz Ortakoyluoglu said: "Our fans are desperate to welcome Kris Boyd to Turkey.
"He can be certain he will be treated like a king if he comes and signs for us.
"Money is not the issue in this transfer - it's where he wants to play.
"Our management team believe Kris Boyd would help us be more successful.
"Talks are continuing with him in a positive fashion and we hope we can sit Kris down here in Turkey and conclude a transfer.
"As we have stated for a long time, he is our main transfer target this season."
Boyd has also been linked with Blackburn Rovers, Middlesbrough, Newcastle and several other Turkish clubs.
