Shota Arveladze: I’m not going to imitate someboby ... Interview
![]() Shota Arveladze, the new coach of Kayserispor visited Tbilisi for three days and we took an interview from him. -You visited Turkey before Tbilisi… -I spent a week in Kayser to take care about the accomodation and of course I visited the Kayserispor base. One of the best bases and stadiums will be at our disposal. I also solved the tranfer cases with the management; we included the Brasilian Moratti in the team, and we may also add one legionary. -Will that be a Georgian? -There are some deals about adding a Georgian defender but I can’t name him until this case is be decided. -When will you start preparing for the new season? -We’ll gather in Kayser on June 28th, and three weeks later we’ll have a two-week preapring stage in Austria. -You already have some concrete opinion about the team and according to this can you define what kind of football will Shota Arveladze’s Kayser play? -Reasonable, ‘nonchaos’, Kayser should have its own image. -All this is still general… Will you follow your teacher, Luis Van Gaal’s philosophy? -Van Gaal is certainly an exemplary but I’ve got my own ideas and I’m not going to imitate anyone. -Concerning the National Team of Georgia – what do you expect from our team? -I don’t imagine that our team will improve playing very soon and achieve higher aims. As it seems to me Temur Ketsbaia is beginning everything from the bottom that is necessary for achieving something. If its true, I think our team will play better , it won’t take long to notice new talented players in the team and such purposed work will surely have good results.

Middlesbrough May Be Interested In Boyd – But Not The Magpies
June 21st, 2010 by Ed Harrison There was a popular report over the weekend that seemed to be a couple of weeks old. Kris Boyd – are Middlesbrough interested? It involved Rangers 26 year-old striker Kris Boyd, and it would appear that the only really interested clubs in the free agent are located in Turkey, but Kris would prefer to play in England. The reports suggest that Boyd has had big-money offers from both Kayserispor and Trabzonspor clubs, who both play in the Turkish Süper Lig. There are suggestions that Middlesbrough and Newcastle United are battling it out for the striker, but from what Magpies’ manager Chris Hughton has already said, and more than once, Newcastle are not interested in this player. It could be that Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan wants to sign the player for the Riverside club, but we wonder if Kris wants to play in England’s second tier? We would expect Kris to settle on some club by the end of the month, but it’s an odds-on certainty that club will not be Newcastle United.

To tap into the mood of austerity as George Osborne prepares to deliver his first Budget speech, FanHouse UK looks at the top 10 players available on free transfers this summer. Cheap? Yes, until you consider that some of them will cost millions in wages.
Joe Cole: Bosman's golden boot of the summer of 2010, the England man has the pick of the Premier League's top clubs after being released by Chelsea. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp is interested but thinks Cole is going elsewhere, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and even Real Madrid all linked. If he stays fit, Cole, 28, will be a cracking signing for someone. FanHouse verdict: United cannot let this chance pass. William Gallas: His intentions remain unclear but, at 32, if you can find a manager to handle his eccentricities, Gallas will provide a decent recruit for someone for a couple of years. The Frenchman has been in England for nine years and may fancy a return to his homeland. FanHouse verdict: He is ex-Arsenal so maybe Manchester City will be his destination, but Blackburn's Sam Allardyce must also be licking his lips. Juan-Roman Riquelme: Has left Boca Juniors and stated he would be prepared to try his luck in England for the first time at the age of 31. Was linked with Everton a couple of years ago and, more recently, West Ham. A top-class playmaker, who will be keen to prove a point after being left out of the Argentina squad, Riquelme is worth a gamble. FanHouse verdict: West Ham or Spurs are his most likely English destinations. Michael Ballack: The midfielder is being linked with a return to Germany after being allowed to leave Stamford Bridge but he could be persuaded to stay in the Premier League, particularly with a decent offer from a London club. Redknapp would struggle to resist the temptation. FanHouse verdict: Back to the Bundesliga - if Harry doesn't swoop. Kim Kallstrom: The Swede is on the move, after deciding to leave Lyon on a Bosman and Newcastle are said to be tracking the midfielder, but may be reluctant to meet the wage demands of a man who can play centrally or wide and kis nown for his fine delivery from set pieces. FanHouse verdict: Would be a decent fit for Fulham Juliano Belletti: Okay, so he has just turned 34, but with Barcelona and Chelsea on his CV, he could give another decent year. Versatile, and with a thumping shot, the Brazilian is a tempting proposition for Premier League managers. Marseille are said to be interested. FanHouse verdict: Surely another for Allardyce to tempt to Ewood Park. Joe Ledley.:From trips to Scunthorpe and Plymouth in the Championship with Cardiff, the Welsh midfielder could be on his way to Roma! Celtic have also held talks with the winger who has been tracked by Everton and Stoke for some time and now is his chance to prove he can step up. FanHouse verdict: David Moyes has looked for long enough without making a move, so Stoke are the most likely destination. Fabio Aurelio: Snubbed a pay-as-you-play offer from Liverpool after being dogged by injuries. When injury-free, he can do the business in a variety of roles but is rarely fit. The former Valencia man has been linked with Marseille and Fulham. FanHouse verdict: Hard to believe he will stay in the Premier League, so France looks a good bet. Kris Boyd: Has banged goals in for years with Rangers but has decided to leave the easy pickings behind in Scotland to chance his arm south of the border and English clubs are queueing up to take a punt. Birmingham, Aston Villa, Everton and Middlesbrough are all said to be interested, along with Turkish and Russian clubs. FanHouse verdict: Everton are filling up with strikers, so Birmingham look the most likely to land Boyd. Darius Vassell: We know Manchester City won't be interested this time,Eight years ago he was playing at a World Cup but spent last season in Turkey with Ankaragucu. He was even kicked out of his hotel after the club failed to pay the bill but that has not put him off and he wants to stay in Turkey. FanHouse verdict: No takers in England, Darius, you'll have to settle for the Super Lig.

Arveladze needs Boyd decision
Kayserispor manager Shota Arveladze has warned Kris Boyd he can't wait much longer for the striker to give him an answer on a big bucks move to Turkey. Former Rangers player Arveladze is under pressure from his board to complete the transfer or move on to other signing targets. But it is understood Boyd could still go to Turkey next week to compare the offers of Kayserispor, Ankaragucu and Bursaspor. (Daily Mail) Meanwhile, Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has said he is out of the running for both Boyd and Celtic star Aiden McGeady. McLeish has been relentless in pursuit of both players for the past 18 months, but is not prepared to match the asking price for either player. (Daily Record)
